From the moment that we voted in our union in 2002, we, as members of VFNHP, immediately qualified for certain protections and rights under the law.
Federal law provides important protection for our union as a whole, as well as for each of us as individuals.
At the local level, through organizing and tough negotiations, we have earned rights for ourselves that are outlined in detail in our contract.
Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to build upon this solid foundation of rights and protections. By utilizing the grievance system outlined in our contract in order to settle disagreements with management, we have organized for, and achieved real, systemic changes, which have directly led to improvements in our contracts, strengthened our rights as union members, and dramatically improved the quality of patient care.
